Sioux Falls, SD-- A Faulkton farmland owner will plead guilty this week to federal charges that he lied to the government to receive
$373,500 in crop insurance and other benefits. |

Plea agreement documents were filed last week in which Roger Melius, 64, admitted conspiring with
family members and making false statements regarding the operation of M&M Farms in Faulk County.
|

|
The indictment alleges that over three years,
M&M Farms received $111,500 in Farm Service Agency payments, $102,800 in Multi-Peril Crop Insurance payments and $159,200 in farm storage loans.
A change of plea hearing is Thursday.
